Request informations

Minimum flow rate

The minimum water flow rate in l/min (or gal/min) required by the appliance as a condition for its operability. This value is set as a characteristic of the appliance and becomes a control limit for E-WATERBLOCK to trigger alarms. If the flow rate detected by E-WATERBLOCK is lower than the minimum flow rate set, this means there is an anomaly and a notification will be sent.

If you have not found answers to your questions, do not hesitate to write to us,

Product Features and Usage

1. How do I know E-WATERBLOCK is the right solution for my needs?

E-WATERBLOCK is recommended for all installations connected to a water supply, and therefore subject to possible leaks and/or flooding, either due to a malfunction in an appliance or to a leak from a connection or a broken pipe. The E-WATERBLOCK technology is able to recognize micro-leaks, broken pipes, excessive or insufficient consumption in relation to the equipment standards and automatically shuts off the water supply when an anomaly is detected, thus protecting its immediate surroundings.

Flows and anomalies

18. What to do in case a solid red light appears?

If the LED light appears as a solid red light, it means that E-WATERBLOCK has detected an anomaly and will automatically shut off the water supply.
In order to know which anomaly has been detected, it is necessary to connect to E-WATERBLOCK through the APP.
If there are any anomalies, they will appear in the Dashboard window.

Different Types of Anomalies:

  • Empty Pipe: there is no water inside the device (this condition does not result in the safety valve blocking the water flow) E-WATERBLOCK has the ability to verify the presence of water inside the pipe.
In case of a lack of water, E-WATERBLOCK reports the anomaly to allow the user to make the necessary checks on the hydraulic system.
  • BLOCKAGE – Insufficient flow (flow below limit – UF, under flow): water flow below the set minimum detected. There may be a micro leak or drip, E-WATERBLOCK will block the water flow.
  • BLOCKAGE – Excessive Flow (OF, over flow): water flow higher than the set maximum detected. The excessive flow could be caused by a broken pipe, E-WATERBLOCK will block the water flow.
  • BLOCKAGE – Excessive Consumption (Over consumption – OV, over volume): consumed water flow exceeding the maximum limit. The appliance is using more water than a normal load. There may be an internal leak, E-WATERBLOCK will block the water flow.

Corrective actions to be taken for each notification:

  • Empty pipe: water must be turned back on
  • Insufficient flow: Check for a leak both outside or inside the appliance. If there is one, repair the leak and reset E-WATERBLOCK by turning the orange lever clockwise (the lever will return to its original position by itself).
If there is no leak (internal or external) and the notification persists, the flow parameters must be changed which means the minimum flow setting is too high and should be reduced by 10-20% from the previous setting.
  • Excessive flow: Check for a leak both outside or inside the appliance. If there is one, repair the leak and reset E-WATERBLOCK by turning the orange lever clockwise (the lever will return to its original position by itself).
If there is no leak (internal or external) and the notification persists, the flow parameters must be changed which means the maximum flow setting is too low and should be increased by 10-20% over the previous setting.
  • Excessive consumption: Check for a leak both outside or inside the appliance. If there is one, repair the leak and reset E-WATERBLOCK by turning the orange lever clockwise (the lever will return to its original position by itself).
If there is no leak (internal or external) and the notification persists, the flow parameters must be changed which means the maximum consumption setting is too low and should be increased by 10-20% over the previous setting.

19. What to do once E-WATERBLOCK has shut off the water?

After identifying the cause of the problem and solving it, proceed with the device reset by turning the orange lever clockwise 90 degrees and releasing it.

What to do when a solid red light appears? See question n°18 above.

20. The E-WATERBLOCK has blocked a leak/anomaly but I don't see any water on the ground. Is this normal? How do I detect the leak?

Yes, it may happen. E-WATERBLOCK responds to every anomaly; the alleged leak could be external or internal to the appliance, and therefore more difficult to detect. If no leak is present, E-WATERBLOCK may have blocked the water due to incorrect parameter settings.

If the notification persists, see also question n°18 for more details.

the ELTEK team will reply within a few hours.

Request informations

21. E-WATERBLOCK has turned off the water but I cannot reset the device as the orange lever is too hard to be turned, what should I do?

It can happen that due to the high water pressure the orange lever is particularly hard to turn. In this case, simply unscrew  the metal ring nut of the E-WATERBLOCK slightly to decrease the pressure and make it easier to turn the orange lever.

Request informations

22. The App displays "empty pipe". What does that mean?

E-WATERBLOCK has the ability to verify the presence of water inside the pipe.
In case of a lack of water, E-WATERBLOCK reports the anomaly to alert the user to examine the hydraulic system.
There is no need to reset E-WATERBLOCK. There are no safety valve block interventions for this type of reporting; simply turn the water back on.

26. What flow rate settings should be selected for a coffee machine in a coffee shop? If I make two coffees at the same time, will it report an anomaly?

A coffee machine might fit into the “Dispensing” installation profile.

The settings for this type of installation are:
Minimum flow rate: 1 l/min

Maximum flow rate: 4 l/min

Maximum consumption: 5 liters

The number of coffees brewed does not affect the water flow rate required at the tap; therefore, the maximum continuous consumption should not exceed the set value.

If the notification persists, refer to question n°18 for more details.
